SSI Ecology Specialties Course FAQs

  • What’s included in an SSI Ecology Specialty course at Manta Dive Gili T?

    Each of our SSI Ecology Specialty courses on Gili Trawangan includes:

    • Theory sessions & one training dive.
    • Full scuba equipment during training, including a mask, fins, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, weights & tank.
    • SSI certification for your chosen ecology specialty on successful completion of the course.

    You’ll combine learning about marine life with practical experience underwater, putting your new knowledge to use on the reefs around the Gili Islands.

  • How much do SSI Ecology Specialty courses on Gili Trawangan cost?

    Each SSI Ecology Specialty course costs IDR 1,950,000, and all specialties can be booked individually.

    If you’d like to complete all five ecology specialties, you’ll only pay for four - a total of IDR 7,800,000.

    A one-time Marine Park Fee of IDR 100,000 is payable separately in cash on arrival.

  • What are the requirements for SSI Ecology Specialty courses at Manta Dive?

    To join our SSI Ecology Specialty courses with diving, you’ll need to:

    • Be at least 15 years old.
    • Hold an Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.

    Not a certified diver yet? We can arrange for you to complete your Open Water training before your ecology specialty course begins. Let us know when enquiring, and we’ll help you plan the additional training days you’ll need.
