About the Dive site

Turtle Heaven is a customer favorite when it comes to picking the best dive sites around the Gili Islands in Indonesia. Manta Dive goes there frequently because scuba divers of every level can experience scuba diving with green turtles. Turtle Heaven or Turtle Point as its also known is a large underwater hill starting at 10 meters depth and going down to 35 meters. It takes 10-15 minutes by boat to get to the north of Gili Meno, a quick and short boat ride from the Dive Center on Gili Trawangan.

Green turtles play an important role in marine ecosystems as they help maintain the health of seagrass beds and coral reefs through their feeding habits, making them an important keystone species. If you are lucky, you can see up to ten turtles on one scuba dive!

Hatching Baby Turtles

Female green turtles return to the same beaches where they were born to lay their eggs, a behavior known as natal homing. This nesting process, called an arribada, sees hundreds or even thousands of turtles coming ashore to dig nests and lay eggs in the sand, ensuring the continuation of their species.You might see signs on Gili Trawangan's beach that say "Turtle nest," or if you are very lucky, you can see them hatching!

Happy divers

The dive site is full of fish and marine life and very colorful. You can see anemones with clownfish, mantis shrimp, octopus, and for the muck divers, there are plenty of nudibranchs to find. It's always a big pleasure to visit the turtles around the Gili Islands and they make even the most experienced divers still smile.
