Three little islands situated in North Lombok each with it's own identity and energy.
The welcoming people of the Gilis make them the perfect destination for holidaymakers, families and honeymooners alike.
Gili Trawangan, a jewel among the Gili Islands, beckons with pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and a laid-back atmosphere. Known for its electric blue waters, this Indonesian paradise is a haven for snorkelers, divers, backpackers, and sun-seekers alike. Beyond the water's edge, quality restaurants, charming beachfront cafes, vibrant nightlife, and breathtaking sunsets contribute to the island's irresistible allure, making Gili Trawangan a must-visit destination for those seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
Accommodation options on the Gili Islands now suit every budget ranging from a bamboo hut to luxury resorts and villas. The island now also has an active night life so there is always something to do for those who want to dance the night away. The eastern side of Gili Trawangan is the busiest, while the more peaceful atmosphere typically associated with a tropical island is now on the sunset side.
Motorised transport is not permitted on the islands so a local taxi comes in the form of a traditional horse-cart, called a Cidomo. Most Cidomos now have a fixed price-list. Bicycles can also be rented at reasonable prices but remember you are on a small island so nothing is very far away.
Although known as mainly a diving destination the Gili islands now also offer visitors a variety of other activities and indulgences, from water skiing and golf to manicures and massages. Whatever your holiday needs the Gilis will more than do them justice.
