Technical Diving International (TDI) Courses
At Manta Dive on Gili Trawangan we now offer a range of Technical Diving International (TDI) Courses. Would you like longer bottom times, to try something new or maybe you would like to feel like James Bond? Well, we have a course (or two or three) for you! If you would like to book or enquire please contact us.
TDI Nitrox Diver
The TDI Nitrox Diver Course is for divers that want to continue their diver education and utilise enriched air nitrox as a breathing gas to extend no decompression limits at depth.
At the end of this course you will be certified to dive enriched air nitrox mixes of up to 40% to enjoy longer bottom times on some of the Gili’s best deep sites such as Halik, Deep Turbo, Shark Point, Mirko’s and Simon’s Reef.
TDI Sidemount Diver
The TDI Side-mount course is a technically focused course teaching the use of two main side mounted tanks. For technical divers, sidemount allows for diving in areas with limited access to twins tank set up and is ideal for divers interested in expanding their diving to environments such as caves or wrecks. For the recreational diver this means surplus gas for increased safety, longer dives with increased gas capacity and greater streamlining.
TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver
The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air nitrox from EAN 21 through 100 percent O2 (within your current certification level) to a maximum depth of 40 metres during dives that do not require multi level decompression. This course is often taught together with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this can be considered the basis of your technical diving career. TDI Advanced Nitrox is also a must for Semi Closed Rebreather (SCR) or Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) divers.
TDI Decompression Procedures Diver
Do you have to surface sooner than you would like? Are you finding your no-decompression limits (NDLs) a limiting factor to dives? As recreational divers, planned decompression is not something that we do or have been taught. The TDI Decompression Procedures Course prepares you for planned multi level decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45 metres/150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal recreational diving limits.
Combined Advanced Nitrox & Decompression procedures
The TDI Decompression Procedures Course combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course form the basis of all other technical courses. After these two courses and some additional experience, the scene has been set for you to move onto additional technical levels. Joining these courses you will gain access to many of the Gili’s best Tech sites including Tunang wall, Don Yeng & the Japanese wreck.
TDI Extended Range
The TDI Extended Range course provides experience and training required to competently utilise air for dives up to 55 meters that require multi level decompression, utilising oxygen or nitrox mixtures during decompression. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and risks of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 meters utilising oxygen or nitrox mixtures for multi level decompression. This challenging technical course is taught with each diver using 4 full size tank (S80 or larger).
TDI Technical Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)
The TDI Technical Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) course provides training in the use of Diver Propulsion Vehicles during technical dives to the divers current level of certification. The aim of the course is to train divers in safe DPV use and emergency procedures while using the DPV. We offer this course on the XJ37 Suex, one of the most powerful DPVs on the market. With a top speed of 85 metres/min you can easily cruise through several dive sites in one dive with ease. This course is offered over 2 days with 4 dives or as a recreational course over 1 day with 2 dives.
We also offer a wide range of non technical Speciality Courses.
