This comprehensive dive course is broken up into three essential parts: engaging digital theory, hands-on pool training, and four open water dives at our beginner-friendly dive sites around the Gili Islands.
Your first day is a blend of learning essential dive theory combined with a hands-on introduction to your diving gear. Guided by our expert instructors, you'll then dive into pool sessions where you'll get comfortable breathing under water and learn to master the essential diving skills and techniques that you'll need as an Open Water Diver.
Days two and three are where the real adventure begins – four open water dives in the sea. Here, you'll apply your pool-learned dive skills in the sea surrounded by the Gili's vibrant marine life. Completing the course earns you the SSI (Scuba Schools International) Open Water Diver certification, a worldwide recognised diving license that allows you to dive up to a depth of 18 meters while accompanied by a dive buddy of a similar or higher certification level. Open Water Course Prerequisites
Before you start your Open Water Course, have a look at the following prerequisites.

You must be able to swim, there is a swim test on the course.

There is a medical questionaire to complete, if you are taking any medication or if you have had any heart, lung or ear problems you may need to have your doctor sign off before you can dive. This needs to be arranged before you arrive. Simply contact us for a questionaire if you are unsure about your medical history and have any questions whatsoever about the possibility to dive.
Things to note for Junior divers:

For students up to 12 years old, the depth is limited up to a maximum of 12 meters

Students younger than 15 years old will be certified as a Junior Open Water Diver and must dive under the direct supervision of a dive professional or with a certified adult in environments equivalent to their training and depth limits.
